The challenging spirit of Pushpa
Pushpa, a 36-year-old widow, lost her husband to a terrible accident 11 years ago. Sadly, nobody from her extended family came forward to support her family, emotionally or financially. This left Pushpa all alone with her two children.
Under such difficult circumstances, and battling for survival, Pushpa’s son dropped out from school to look for a job. Pushpa, with no skills and being illiterate, started working as a domestic help. The situation worsened when her son left the family over a trivial issue two years ago. Pushpa and her daughter are the only family members, and as a mother she dreams of her daughter being educated and independent. To turn her dreams into reality, Pushpa is working painstakingly for her daughter along with support from our KARE program.
