Every child has the legal right to education, however, not every child successfully goes onto completing his or her education through school. This can be due to a variety of reasons such as:
- Lack of support from the family
- No educational background or illiterate parents
- Children who live on the streets and are not motivated
- Children taking to substance abuse because of no supervision
Through our education supportive programme called “Eduquip”, we work currently with 70 children, each given special assistance to work through their school days. We have 4 teachers working with this group. Each teacher works with a small number of children, assisting them through various lessons every day from 3 to 6 pm.
We also have special group counselling and career supportive classes during the summer break when we organize our summer camp.
Each of these children come from very poor families. Their families being unable to support their education, our centre is the only option for these and many more children. We expect to increase our capacity by another 30 kids bringing the total to 100 children, by the end of this year.
You can be a part of this change by supporting the costs of education of a child. For more information write to us.
